PA Film Tax

What is the PA Film Tax Credit?

In 2007, Pennsylvania established a film tax credit in an effort to encourage production companies to bring their film projects to the State. In order to receive the tax credit, production companies must spend 60% of their film budget in Pennsylvania.

At The McQuillan Group, we have extensive experience working with production companies on the PA Film Tax Credit. In fact, we have worked with most of the major production studios, in addition to many independent production companies. Our significant experience in this industry dates back to when the film tax credit was established.

We are routinely in communication with the Pittsburgh film office and the PA film office/DCED to ensure that we are current with any changes in the film tax credit law and related guidelines. Additionally, we pride ourselves on being a resource for questions and we work closely with the production companies to assist them in complying with the guidelines.

At The McQuillan Group we have invested time, effort, and training in order to be the premier firm in Pennsylvania to address the needs of film production companies. We are uniquely qualified to perform these types of engagements and we provide considerable value and insight regarding the film tax credit program. Our assistance goes beyond the typical efforts of most accounting firms and we pride ourselves on our service and accessibility. If you would like more information on how we can assist your company with the PA Film Tax Credit, please contact Kevin McQuillan or Krista Salera at 412-321-9000.
